This course takes on a bold task of covering most of what you need to know about guard passing in a single instructional. Instead of teaching individual positions and techniques we focus on the common battles that occur throughout the different positions, how to approach and win those battles, by doing so we cut down the amount of information you need to absorb to understand guard passing. Concepts and heuristics are a huge part of this series and act as a guide to understand broadly where you should be focusing your attention, whether you should be advancing or retreating, and which battles are important given the situation. The course is split into 7 key scenarios which each have a unique set of battles compared to the other scenarios, these include supine front on, closed guard, north south, folded legs, under the legs, and leg entanglements. The course is quite advanced and detailed, so it is recommended you have some years of grappling experience before beginning this topic, if you are newer and want a conceptual approach you may get more out of the “Understanding Guard Passing” course
