(Sai)
Though we now know that Okinawan Karate was highly influenced by Southern Style Kung Fu there are few examples more convincing that the Sais. And this is probably the most involved and complex Sai set we have ever seen. Solid movements but a wide range of variations. Even a few jump kicks and some slamming the weapons together in a way we’ve never seen. If you like or are interested in the weapon, this is a good one. The Meishan Iron Ruler is a traditional weapon of the Meishan School. Its characteristics are simplicity and bravery, without any fancy moves. Every move is either for striking or defending. Because it is short and has no sharp edge, it is easy to carry. Because it comes in pairs, it has an extra pair of claws compared to whips and maces, which is beneficial for both offense and defense. Its main uses include chopping, splitting, stabbing, slashing, piercing, sweeping, parrying, blocking, as well as reverse-hand strikes, smashing, sealing, and closing.
