Product Description

Chen Style Xin Jia Yi Lu – A modified form of Chen style created by the 17th generation master Chen Fake who added more detail to the forms. This form consists of 2 routines and the ”small frame” form.

Comprised of 83 postures it offers an intensive study on Chen style body dynamics. Each posture is imbued with more apparent dan-tian movements, silk-reeling, increased movements per posture and a richer expression of Fajin than what is found in Lao Jia Yi Lu. Each posture is shown from multiple angles.

About the Actor

Master Ren Guangyi is a 12th generation Chen Style Taijiquan master and a leading disciple of Grandmaster Chen Xiaowang. He has risen to become one of Americas foremost authorities on Taijiquan. With the new millennium, Master Ren has brought the art of Taijiquan to a higher profile in the public eye. He performed Taijiquan on stage all over the world, alongside his famous student, veteran rocker Lou Reed. Reed asked Master Ren to join him on his world tour, which played over 150 shows in over 20 countries, including Carnegie Hall and the Olympics. Rens reputation has attracted several celebrity students, including the former C.E.O. of A.O.L. Jon Miller, music promoter Tony Visconti, and Hugh Jackman.

In 1991, Master Ren first immigrated to the United States. He quickly established himself as a major force in the taiji world by winning tournaments all across the country. He soon graced on the cover of many martial arts magazines, including three covers of Kung Fu Tai Chi magazine and a mention for his work with Lou Reed in Rolling Stone. In 1998, he returned to China to capture the coveted heavyweight title for pushing hands at the International Taijiquan Competition in Wenxian in Henan Province. Since then, Master Ren has founded the International Chen Style Taijiquan Association. He has produced several highly regarded instructional books and videos on Taijiquan. Master Ren continues to push the art of Taiji forward in America with his pioneering work and his innovative approach.
