O Grão-mestre Ho Sik Pak, 8º Dan, começou seus estudos de Tang Soo Do aos 10 anos, em Yong Mun, uma pequena cidade na província de Kyung Ki na Coreia do Sul.

Seu instrutor era o Mestre Hon In Lee. Ele foi premiado com Cho Dan aos 13 anos e continuou seus estudos lá até 1977. De 1977 a 1979, Grão-Mestre Pak serviu no Exército Coreano e ensinou habilidades de combate e autodefesa para seus companheiros militares.

Após sua dispensa do serviço militar, ele foi contratado como instrutor de Tang Soo Do na Base da Força Aérea Americana na província de Kun San, Jun Ra Buk Do, Coréia do Sul.

Lá ele ensinou essas mesmas técnicas para o pessoal militar dos EUA até 1982. Em 1981, ele ganhou o prestigiado concurso coreano de fisiculturismo, sendo nomeado Sr. Kun San. Em 1982, ele foi escolhido como membro da equipe olímpica coreana Tang Soo Do e viajou para o Campeonato Internacional de Tang Soo Do em Atlantic City, Nova Jersey, contribuindo para a vitória da equipe.

Nessa época, ele decidiu fazer dos Estados Unidos sua residência permanente e mudou-se para o sul da Califórnia. Além de suas responsabilidades de ensino, ele apareceu em muitos filmes de artes marciais, incluindo Big Trouble in Little China, Best of the Best, Mortal Kombat e Hunt to Kill. Em 2003, ele foi listado no Registro Nacional de Quem é Quem de Kington por sua experiência em artes marciais e suas realizações notáveis nacionalmente e na comunidade. No mesmo ano, ele foi premiado com seu 8º Dan na Batalha de LA em Woodland Hills, CA, um evento anual que ele organiza.

Em 2004, ele também recebeu uma carta de reconhecimento por este evento do governador Arnold Schwarzenegger. Ele foi membro da U.S. Tang Soo Do (Soo Bahk Do) Federation de 1982 a 1994. Em 1994 ele fundou sua organização, a Hwa Rang World Tang Soo Do Federation.
