Gōng zì zhuāng
In the “工” (gong) stance training, pay attention to the lower body, with the feet as the foundation. A deep foundation leads to lush growth; in other words, a solid stance ensures stability, making movements as steady as Mount Tai and as powerful as a tiger. A stable stance allows for fluid movement, whether advancing, retreating, attacking, or defending, without any erratic motion.

It is characterized by its stable stances, fierce and powerful movements, simplicity and unpretentious style, with every move focused on either offense or defense. The routines are short, concise, and tightly structured. It is known for its ability to “strike even a crouching ox in a square swoop.”
