Seven Form Fist is a direct and forceful style. Some of its special characteristics is that is like to enter laterally, it utilizes leg locks and it definitely move to the inside position. This is a series of marching actions performed as one might do in a class: up and back with both sides. They are then shown in basic application. The ideas here, since this is a Gong Jia, or working structure is not just the self defense applications but to capture the feeling and flavor of this style. This would occur if someone practiced these diligently.
There are a number of Chinese martial styles in which Muslims excel. Thus the term Jiao Men or Muslim Style is not always a precise one. Generally, there are three styles where the Muslim presence has been so strong as to be identified with this triad. These are Liu He Xin Yi, Cha (Zha) Quan and the far lesser known Qi Shi Quan or Seven Form Fist. Here we have our first example of the Seven Form Fist. demonstrated by Shi ZhenGang, an inheritor of this style. It is not known who introduced this form. Some say that during the highest literary period of the Tang Dynasty it appeared from the Western regions. There is some pictoral evidence that famous Seven Form fighters were responsible for the spread of Seven Form Boxing to KaiFeng, the once capitol of Henan and a center for not only Islamic but Jewish members of the Chinese nation. The Seven Forms, manners, actions or what you will are: Splitting, Wiping, Animal Head, Docking, Pulling the Windless, Night Plowing and Flower Arranging.
