The Nunchuck is a short two piece weapon. The typical Kung Fu equivalent is the Big Sweeper where one side is considerably longer than the other. This Seven Form Fist weapon is neither one. It is a medium sized rod with a short one attached. In this VCD the application of the weapon is shown with basic twirling actions that are then demonstrated against an assistant armed with a short stick. They use the stick as the target as well as the attacking weapon. Basic, almost primitive usage but historically and traditionally adequate. No form, just the unvarnished methods of using this ancient instrument.

There are a number of Chinese martial styles in which Muslims excel. Thus the term Jiao Men or Muslim Style is not always a precise one. Generally, there are three styles where the Muslim presence has been so strong as to be identified with this triad. These are Liu He Xin Yi, Cha (Zha) Quan and the far lesser known Qi Shi Quan or Seven Form Fist. Here we have our first example of the Seven Form Fist. demonstrated by Shi ZhenGang, an inheritor of this style. It is not known who introduced this form. Some say that during the highest literary period of the Tang Dynasty it appeared from the Western regions. There is some pictoral evidence that famous Seven Form fighters were responsible for the spread of Seven Form Boxing to KaiFeng, the once capitol of Henan and a center for not only Islamic but Jewish members of the Chinese nation.

The Seven Forms, manners, actions or what you will are: Splitting, Wiping, Animal Head, Docking, Pulling the Windless, Night Plowing and Flower Arranging. People who have studied Seven Form include the Xin Yi master, Li ZunSi.
