TETSUZAN KURODA – INTERNAL TRAINING FOR BUJUTSU (AMUSING PRATICES JUJUTSU) VOL.01武術の“遊び稽古” 第1巻 Basic Product Information
Volume 1 — Jujutsu Edition Themes:
Instructor / Supervisor: Kuroda Tetsuzan Runtime: 83 minutes Overview Pursuing “disappearing movement” and “speed” — Cultivating the ideal martial body. Kuroda Tetsuzan, headmaster of the Shimbukan and a classical martial artist known for embodying unimaginable speed through his research into “disappearing movement,” presents a series of training methods—“play‑practice”—designed to cultivate a non‑ordinary, highly refined martial body. Across two volumes, he carefully introduces these methods. Aimed at developing the quality of one’s movement rather than winning or losing, strength or weakness, the content is valuable for the daily training of all martial arts practitioners. Contents ■ Juntaihō‑1 (Basics: Moving with the upper body fixed) Juntaihō: Not moving the hands; not twisting the hips; moving while keeping the upper body fixed.
■ Juntaihō‑2 (The meaning of “handling the body from junta i”)
■ Musoku no Hō (The meaning of “you must not use the legs”) Musoku no Hō: Do not push the floor/ground with the feet; do not shift weight to one leg before moving.
■ Ukemi (Iaijutsu secret — reversal of situation: victory without drawing or cutting) Ukemi: A posture/form in iaijutsu; its advanced body method expresses reversal from disadvantage.
Instructor Profile Kuroda Tetsuzan — 15th‑generation head of Shimbukan Born in Saitama, 1950. Trained from childhood under his grandfather (Kuroda Taiji) and father (Kuroda Shigeki) in five family‑transmitted classical martial arts schools. Recognizing kata as theory, he teaches and practices the methodology of movement found in old traditions that reject brute strength, earning high regard in the martial arts world. He has produced many DVDs, including “Gokui: One‑Tempo Movement” (BAB Japan).
