The inheriting tradition of Northern Chinese martial arts. Baguazhang, one of the Three Great Internal Martial Arts alongside Taiji and Xingyi, was founded in the late Qing dynasty by Dong Haichuan. It is characterized by its ever‑changing movements and circular attack‑and‑defense patterns. In this DVD, Honda Tadato, a formal disciple of 4th‑generation Cheng‑style inheritor Master Sun Zhijun, introduces and explains the system’s methods.

👤 Instructor / Supervisor: Honda Tadato In 1989, Honda‑sensei had already obtained his Japanese acupuncture and moxibustion license. At age 24, he went to study at the Beijing College of Traditional Chinese Medicine to research acupuncture and herbal medicine. In Chinese martial arts, he was originally scheduled — through the introduction of Yan Hai, an official of the PRC State Sports Commission (as of 1989) — to enter the school of Master Xie Peihou, a teacher of Yin‑style Baguazhang.
However, due to the outbreak of the Tiananmen Incident, he temporarily returned to Japan. He soon returned to China to continue his research.
In the martial arts sphere, Yan Hai re‑introduced him — this time to the great master of Cheng‑style Baguazhang, Master Sun Zhijun, a 4th‑generation inheritor and holder of the recently established Chinese Wushu 8th Duan. Honda became his student. Over the next eight years, until returning to Japan in 1996, Honda studied Cheng‑style Baguazhang and Hebei‑style Xingyiquan under Master Sun Zhijun, eventually becoming a formal disciple (bàishītú). 1989年、日本においてすでに鍼灸師の資格を所得していた本田先生は、24歳のときに鍼灸及び漢方の研究のために北京中医学院に留学する。中国武術においては、中華人面共和国国家体育委員会幹部(1989年当時)閻海老師の紹介により、尹派八卦掌の解佩后老師に入門する予定であったが、天安門事件の勃発により一時帰国することになる。しかしながら、すぐに中国へ戻り研究活動を続ける。また武術の面においては、改めて閻海老師に程派八卦掌の大家、八卦掌第四世門人であり近年中国国内において制定された中国武術八段位である孫志君老師を紹介され学生となる。その後、1996年に帰国するまでの約8年間にわたって、孫志君老師に程派八卦掌と河北派形意拳を学び、後に排師徒となる。現在、程派八卦掌・三皇炮捶・道家養生長寿術において排師徒となっている。 |
