He was so sought after he turned down title fights at Lumpinee and Rajadamnern and instead signed with Thai Fight where promoters feel he's going to become an International star. Pi Earn has been a trainer who has sculpted PTT's methodical Muay Khao fighting style, and in this session he starts right away making the tiny changes in my technique that are necessary for the strong, forward fighting approach that he favors. #2 Joe Hongthong - Developing Muay Khao Style (87 min) This is nearly an hour and a half of straight on Muay Khao instruction. Joe was a top stadium fighter and he's watched me fight for several years, so this is Advanced Level tweaking, as he teaches how to bring elbows and knees together, discussing the ways that dragging back can work for a forward fighter, and the differences with more technical (femur) approaches. In this session he goes through his favorite Muay Khao techniques, shows why he prefers side-attack locks, and turns. #5 Hippy Singmanee 1 - Developing Power (69 min) Two-time Lumpinee champion Golden Age legend Hippy Singmanee takes me though one of the most unique and valuable hours I've spent with a top trainer. He is building ground up how power and relaxation are related to each other. This session has been highly influential upon my own training. Learn how spacing+timing+relaxation produces dynamic power. #6 Namkabuan Nongkipahuyut - Explosive Attack (28 min) 266 wins, 15 losses, 2 draws. Namkabuan may be the best fighter I've ever seen, and it was an intense privledge to train with him. I can honestly say that it changed me as a fighter, inspiring to become more. He combines Muay Khao fighting with technical precision and explosive energy. The knee he teaches in this session is really like no other I've seen, like it is shot out of a cannon. #7 Karuhat Sor. Supawan 1 - Be Like Sand (62 min) 2x Golden Age Lumpinee Champion (112 lb and 122 lbs), Karuhat is considered elite among the elites. Mixing an explosive style with constant off-balances, angling, and melting aways, he was nicknamed the Ultimate Wizard. I can only describe the things he's teaching here as: Be like sand. This is very subtle, advanced stuff, far above combo techniques or specific defenses. It may take a few viewings to absorb what he is teaching. Everytime I watch this I learn something new. #8 Sangtiennoi Sor Rungroj - Advanced Clinch (52 min) The Golden Age Lumpinee and Rajadamnern Champion, a legendary Muay Khao fighter who fought all the greats instructs on the finer points of clinch technique. Small differences that make big differences. Advanced tips on the swim-in and turn, and the importance of going from long distance techniques to short distance grab and lock. #9 Yodkhunpon Sittraipum "The Elbow Hunter" 1 - Slicing Elbow (37 min) Simultaneous Raja and Luminee title holder at 118 lbs, Yodkhunpon was one of the most feared elbow fighters in Thailand, and in this session he teaches the looseness and spacing that made his lead elbow such a viscious weapon. He also shuns the traditional rocking chair knee, and instead teaches a powerful stand-in crossing, open-hipped knee that compliments his elbows up top. #10 Yodwicha Por Boonsit 2 - Clinch Techniques & Defense (34 min) This is my second session with Yodwicha, you can see the first further down below. Lots of minute corrections, small vital details that turn working techniques into dominance. You get the entire picture of a Muay Buek fighter out of the legendary Pinsinchai gym . #17 Burklerk Pinsinchai 1 - Dynamic Symmetry (82 min) Arjan Burklerk is a unique master of Muay Thai from the Golden Age, boasting one the highest win percentages in Thai history, and possessing a beautiful craft that harkens back to older styles of fighting with powerful, dynamic symmetry and control of space. #18 Kru Wihok Skarbowsky Gym - Old School Flex (49 min) Kru Wihok is an old school femeu style trainer out of the Skarbowsky Gym in Bangkok (Jocky Gym). He's a former all-Asia boxing champion and teaches a brilliant flexing style that hearkens back to a Muay Thai before the Golden Age. #19 Attachai Fairtex - Timing and IQ (72 min) 2x Lumpinee Champion Attachai Fairtex is one of the great femeu fighters of Thailand. Namsaknoi, himself an elite femeu fighter of legendary status called him his most difficult fight as he just was too hard to read. This is a window into that quality, and how to build it. #20 Karuhat Sor Supawan 3 - Switching to Southpaw (144 min) 2x Lumpinee Champion Karuhat Sor. Supawan in this epic video posts installs a limited Southpaw core which leads to developing high level ideas found in his switching style: tracking and attacking the open side, watching for and dictating weight transfer. This is the blueprint of a legend's acclaimed fighting style. #21 Rambaa Somdet 1 - Clinch Trips & Throws (34 min) Thailand's first MMA World Champion, and one of the most aggressive, stinging fighters to grace the ring shows his philosophy on how to handle the clinch, using quick attacks, lifts, body-weight shifts to upend an opponent often before they are set. Some of my favorite trips are in this. #22 Singdam Kiatmoo9 - Making the Basics Beautiful (71 min) Singdam provides perhaps the best progression through the basics I've yet filmed, the blueprint of his beautiful, effective style. Trips, counters, locks, elbows the list is extensive, almost too much to fit into an hour. #24 Kaensak Sor. Ploenjit - Explosive Defense (55 min) Kaensak, the 2 time Fighter of the Year, teaches the keys to his explosive, defensive first style, showing how training timing and open side tracking can produce powerful counters. This is blueprint to one of the most unique and admired fighters of the Golden Age. #25 Luktum Sityodtong 1 - Positioning and Trips (62 min) Tum is an active international Thai fighter raised out of the famed Sityodtong gym. His muay is both physically close, but also evasive and tactical. #26 Sagat Petchyindee 1 - Explosive Power (57 min) One of the great fighters in the history of Thailand, and the inspiration of the "Street Fighter" video game character, Sagat is like no other. Here he teaches how power has to come out of the ribs, and your frame, taking the shortest distance to your target, making sure your feet are constantly "organized". #27 Karuhat Sor. Supawan 4 - Tension & Kicking Dynamics (104 min) Karuhat, a fighter with perhaps the slickest style of any Golden Age great, shows the importance of tension, and patiently goes through correcting the kick, making it quicker and much harder to read. #28 Jaroenthong Kiatbanchong - Femeu Muay Thai Hands (50 min) Super slick, 3x Lumpinee Champion Jaroenthong is considered one of the Yodmuay of the Golden Age, often pictured with Samart and Somrak as killers from that day. In this session he teaches how he marries great boxing hands with femeu footwork. #29 Pornsanae Sitmonchai - The Power of Hooks & Low Kicks (74 min) A whole system of low kick and hook attacks is taught in this one session. Rajadamnren and 2x Lumpinee Champion Pornsanae is known for his brutal power fighting and this is how he gets it done. Cutting angles, lead arm control, invading space. Pornsanae teaches his philosophy. #30 Dieselnoi Chor Thanasukarn 2 - Muay Khao Craft (42 min) The greatest knee fighter who ever lived not only shares his secrets in ring tactics - how to draw out your opponent and then ultimately hem them in - and various closing and tripping techniques, he also shows his amazing heart. He's a Legend among Legends, the fighter without equal in the history of the sport. #31 Kru Daeng Kiatbusaba - Southpaw Dracula Guard (64 min) This is a master class in how to install a specific system of attack and defense, from the ground up. In this case it's the Dracula Guard from Southpaw, a style of muay designed for advancing, forward fighters. Discover not only all the built-in advantages, but also watch an incredible instructor mould proper positioning through constant, but carefully modulated pressure. #32 Visiting with Arjan Prahmod and Golden Age Nongkipahuyut Gym (26 min) Not the usual Muay Thai Library session, but a treat for those who love historic Muay Thai. Arjan Prahmod created the 2nd most champions in the Golden Age after Arjan Yodtong, and all of them came out of the famed Nongkipahuyut gym in Nongki, Thailand. In this session Arjan along with a prized student shows techniques that not only won big stadium belt, but are more more rare these days. I also walk through the gym's Hall of Fame room. #33 Kru San Sitmonchai 1 - Control of Pace & Distance when Advancing (56 min) Kru San is a big man but has incredible muay, a lightness to his movement that he transforms into a jai yen advancing Muay Thai style. In this session it's all about creating pressure without rushing, using the teep to set up combinations to the body and head, raising ring awareness, and using weapons at the appropriate time in your opponent's fatigue. #34 Samart Payakaroon - Balance, Balance, Balance! (81 min) Atop the tower of Muay Thai legends probably stands Samart. 3x Fighter of the Year, 4x Lumpinee Champion and WBC World Boxing Champion, no fighter more brilliantly showed what femeu fighting could do. In this session he shows the foundations of how to build true balance, the ultimate key to his fighting style. #35 Yodsanan Sityodtong - Southpaw Tactics & Power (86 min) One of the biggest Knock Out artists Thailand has ever produced (46 KOs in 57 boxing wins), PABA and WBA World Champion Yodsanan teaches both the secrets to his devastating hook and a slick Muay Thai style from the left side. #36 General Tunwakom 1 - Lertrit Military Muay (46 min) General Tunwakom is the last living direct student of the grandmaster who developed this Lertrit/Muay Khorat military style of fighting, designed to end exchanges quickly. Much can be learned from the foundations of these techniques, and these are definitely techniques that could be effective in the ring with proper timing. #37 Kongtoranee Payakaroon - Power In The Hands (89 min) 5x Lumpinee Champion, 2x Fighter of the Year, Kongtoranee teaches the fundamental grounding of strikes that made him one of the most feared heavy-handed fighters in Thailand. Such economy of movement expresses the true beauty in his style, quite different than - but no less admirable - that of his young brother Samart. #38 Sagat Petchyindee 2 - Maximum Damage (61 min) Such an anticipated session, part 2 of Sagat Petchyindee, the inspiration of the Sagat Street Fighter character. It's hard to believe, but he's even better in real life. In this session his continues to teach his "stay in your frame" method of bringing maximum efficiency and damage to striking. #39 Khorat Saknarin - Precise Tensions (97 min) The muay of Kru Khorat is kind of incredible. I've been in front of a lot of legends and krus but this hidden gem kru was just bristling with techniques and a dynamic, violent Muay Thai. And it felt like it could go on for hours. He's a kru who has thought a lot about his Muay Thai and probably sharpened it even after his retirement from fighting. This session is a treasure trove. #40 Gen Hongthonglek - Muay Femeu Tactics & Mindset (70 min) The Muay Femeu (artful fighting) style is more than just a set of techniques, it's also a mindset and strategy of how to score, and how to score big. The warfare is not just in terms of damage, but of psychology, displaying dominance through skill and timing. Gen in this hour outlines how he likes to fight, and how he pulls off the biggest scores at the right time. #41 Samson Isaan 1 - The Art of Dern Fighting (64 min) To "dern" in Thai is to "walk", which means basically to just come forward no matter what, to create a relentlessness. Voted Fighter of the Year in 1991, Samson Isaan was one of the great Dern Fighters of the Golden Age, and in this session he shows his forward pulsing techniques which are meant to just overwhelm his opponent. Also a great session for pressure Southpaw fighters. #42 Boraphet Pinsinchai 2 - Muay Khao Fighting Techniques (50 min) Kru Ten is probably the best Muay Khao (knee fighting) private in Thailand, and one of the best in the Muay Thai Library. He not only is expert at clearly illustrating techniques, he has a perfect energy pace in his instruction. #43 Kongsamut Sor. Thanikul - Muay Mat Style (74 min) This Lumpinee champion is perhaps most notable for when he lost a fight for the 102 lb Lumpinee belt, against famed Samart. Samart winning his first belt of many. Kongsamut has a beautiful Muay Mat (punchers) style that he mixes with low kicks, very differently than the Pornsanae style. He fights in close, and is constantly twisting, hitting high and low. Any Muay Thai puncher would benefit from the principles in his style. #44 Ponsaknoi Sit Chang - Old School Jockygym (74 min) Ponsaknoi is from the legendary Jockgym, a gym producing some of the greatest champions in Thai history, femeu elite fighters like Somrak, Saenchai, Lerdsila have flowered from this gym. An instructor at Jockygym for 20 years, and a fighter there long before, this session allows insight into the grounded basics of the femeu fighting approach across the decades. #45 Langsuan Panyutapum - Monster Muay Khao Training (66 min) One of the greatest knee fighters who ever fought, 1987 Fighter of the Year Langsuan shows how an elite Muay Khao fighter of his day trained. This session is powerful on the basics that elevate the body and mind, at high repetition, allowing the relentless, pressing style that made Langsuan the fighter nobody wanted to fight. #46 Bluksek "Kru Noi" Sityodtong - Internal Knees & Elbows (59 min) Learn techniques that go all the way back to Old School Sityodtong, some of these I've not seen before. Kru Noi has a system of internal elbows and knees that work offense and defense together. And don't miss what I'm calling the Low Kick Destroyer, sure to end your opponent low kicking you. #47 Silapathai Jockygym - Master of Teep Distance (64 min) One of the great femeu fighters of the Golden Age unlocks the secret of his teep oriented dominance which made him one of the most difficult fighters to face in his day. The lessons here are precious as he unfolds the details of how to use the teep and tempo to always put the fight where you want it. #48 Dieselnoi Chor. Thanasukarn 2 - Jam Session (80 min) Possibly the greatest fighter who ever lived, Dieselnoi, teaches his fighting tactics and strategy, keys to winning as a Muay Khao fighter. He is accompanied by Rajadamnern Featherweight champion Nopidej Sor. Reodi, so you get to see see the interaction between two related philosophies of the Muay Khao style. This session could be watched and studied over and over. #49 Chamuakpet Hapalang 1 - Devastating Knee in Combination (66 min) The most decorated fighter of the Golden Age with 4 Lumpinee Belts and 5 Rajadamnern Belts, and the Fighter of the Year award (1985), Chamuakpet, a gym-mate of Dieselnoi, teaches his beautiful and devastating Southpaw knee to the open side, in combination. His fast, powerful knee was practically unstoppable and in this session you can see why. #50 Karuhat Sor. Supawan 5 - Serpentine Knees & Flow (62 min) The legendary Karuhat teaches his winding, advancing style, a culmination of many, many hours of our training together. You get a glimpse into his advanced movements, and his philosophy on reading opponents. #51 Berneung Kem Muaythai Gym - Big Man Timing, Not Power (66 min) Berneung, despite being a power, Muay Khao fighter is a big advocate of timed pressure, and using timing to disrupt and ultimately dismantle your opponent. This session is full of teep tactics, switching into opposite stance, clinch trips and turns, and a thinking many's Muay Khao approach. #52 Krongsak Prakong-Boranrat - That Shoving Energy (56 min) Legendary Krongsak, a man who beat Sagat 3x, and fought Dieselnoi to a draw, gives a session that is all about the right fight energy in training. He places great importance on eye-contact, and making sure your strikes really finish, as well as focusing on the back foot in stance, the rudder of the boat. #53 Kem Sitsonpeenong 2 - Mastering Everything In Between (80 min) With one of the great technique krus of Thailand, Kem Kem Muaythai Gym, in his gym in the mountains just below Khorat. A special session that details how to work on all the things in-between strikes. So much to learn in this 80 minutes. He's a special teacher. #54 The Late Sirimongkol and Lertrit Master General Tunwakom 2 (81 min) This session is a big part of what the Muay Thai Library project is all about. It's likely the last substantive video of the 1972 Fighter of the Year Sirimonkol Looksiripat, including a lengthy interview telling of his remarkable career. He also goes through the basics of his southpaw fighting approach. As an added bonus, Muay Lertrit (military Muay Thai) master General Tunwakom jumps in and teaches the unique strikes of his art. #55 Manop Manop Gym 1 - The Art of the Teep (90 min) An absolutely brilliant technician, Arjan Manop who is famed as Saenchai's Yokkao padman, teaches the art of the teep in fantastic detail. Some of his corrections were so small, like the timing of the plant foot, but have made big impacts on my practice. If you love the fine details of beautiful Muay Thai technique this is a session for you. #56 Tanadet Tor. Pran49 - Mastering Long Clinch (63 min) This is one of the most interesting and, if mastered, dominant clinch positions one can use, and the entire session is devoted to it. I filmed with young Long Clinch master Tanadet, and discover all the small refinements he created that turned what for many fighters is just a transitional position, into an entire system of attack. This is a rare session, capturing a little known and used clinch system. #57 Boonlai Sor. Thanikul - Kicking Excellence (66 min) One of the most asked for sessions by patrons, and it took well over a year to find and arrange filming with Boonlai. A legendary fighter of the Golden Age who beat some of the greatest fighters of his day (Karuhat, Namkabuan, Langsuan, etc), with such a beautiful kicking attack. Learn the secrets of his head kick, along with some beautiful slow-motion capture. #58 Jitti Jitti Gym - Close Range Dynamics (61 min) Jitti has been instructing westerners, and western women as well, possibly longer than any other Bangkok gym. He was a doorway in Bangkok through more than a generation of farang fighters have passed. I was very excited to get his muay in the Library. It's a powerful, dynamic short range style that is full of subtly and his corrections were beautiful. You want to fight at close range? This is a session you don't want to miss. #59 Satanmuanglek Numpornthep - Beautiful Clinch Throws (65 min) This session is focused on clinch throws. Satanmuanglek Numpornthep is an active fighter, both in Muay Thai and – in recent years – Western Boxing (he boxes under the name Satanmuanglek CP Freshmart, and already has a boxing title to his name - note, you can take privates with him at Chatchai's world famous Sasakul Boxing Gym). #60 Sagat Petchindee 3 - All the Strikes Tuned and Dangerous (101 min) One of the great, legendary names of Thailand, Sagat Petchyindee the inspiration for the Street Fighter character, goes through his entire striking philosophy with lots of technical correction and fine tuning. See the secret to his creation of smooth, efficient, explosive power, and witness the amazing man himself. #61 Arjan Surat 1 - Old School Master (37 min) Arjan Surat stands as a tower in the pantheon of great coaches of Thailand. Coach of the Thai National Team, Kru of legends since the Golden Age, there is nobody like him. Learn the basics of his technique, but what is more look into the eyes of the one of the great coaches ever, training legends in his garage for decades. #62 Rambaa Somdet 2 - His Stinging Attack (83 min) Rambaa known for his stinging attack, teaches speed and precision in this more than hour long session. Thailand's first MMA world champion, Rambaa draws from various disciplines, fusing techniques together is still a very traditional, stadium-oriented Muay Thai. Here elbows from various angles, switching attacks, and balanced energy come together to produce high-tempo pressure on an opponent. #63 Robert "Sifu" McInnes - Muay Thai and Shorin Kempo (82 min) Robert "Sifu" McInnes has a huge legacy in Thailand. The other westerner to referee at Lumpinee Stadium, a long co-working relationship with Arjan Yodthong of Sityodthong of the Golden Age, as well as instructor to some of the strongest western and Thai fighters like Peter Aerts, Yodsanan and Sakmongkol. Not only is this session full of technique wisdom, he also recounts the Golden Age with eye witness veracity. #64 Chatchai Sasakul 2 - Elements of Boxing (72 min) Chatchai is not only a former WBC world champion, he also is the recipient of Thailand's Coach of the Year. He is one of the great striking coaches in the world, and in this session he breaks down all the basics from the footwork on up. Nobody has a more beautiful and potent hands foundation. Watch and learn from a master. #65 Namsaknoi Yudthagarngamtorn 1 - Sharking the Angles (67 min) The Emperor. Fighter of the Year in 1996 and 6 years undefeated as Lumpinee Champion, one of the greatest fighters ever teaches his incredible edge-attacking style. He shows how he is always one step ahead of his opponent, setting them up in a constantly evolving attack. #66 Kru Gai Petchrungruang - Proper Dern and the Impossible Trip (63 min) One of the great Muay Khao padmen of Thailand, Kru Gai teaches the proper, unabated but unhurried Dern (walking) attack of Muay Khao, and don't miss his incredible trip that feels almost impossible to defend. Not easy to master, but if you do it could make you unstoppable. #67 Kru Cha - Cohension, Guard and Strikes Together (62 min) As your Muay Thai progresses the more blurred the lines between offense and defense become. It is as if everything is one piece. Kru Chai teaches this easy flow between the two as essential to style, one of the lessor trained aspects of technique. #68 Arjan Net Saknarong - The Art of Proximity (47 min) Arjan Net is a legendary fighter of the 1970s who beat all the huge names of his era. Potsai, Pudpadnoi, Wichannoi, Pudlorlek. It's very special to have him in the Library. At 64, with decades of teaching the importance of spatial proximity become clear in this session. This session is full of wisdom and gems. #69 Sagat Petchyindee 4 - Muay Maat Tigers & Snakes (67 min) Sagat details his ferocious, hands-heavy style in this session, teaching perfect balance and very aggressive spacing. The secrets to his power, how everything flows out of his core and his organized stance are on full display. Nobody like him. #70 Kru Mou Ban Muay Thai - The Art of Counters (73 min) Kru Mou's Muay Thai is Muay Boran influenced and is based on counter striking with beautiful efficacy. Learn the advantages of fighting in space, and answering strikes with well timed and pointed attacks that discourage and dispirit your opponent. #71 Napapol Giatsakchokchai - Powerful Boxing For Muay Thai (81 min) Nothing is a better match than world class boxing added to fundamentally sound Muay Thai. Nateetong 1 - Art of Femeu Interruptions and Balance (73 min) One of the most difficult things is to teach Muay Femeu timing and distance control, but Kru Tak is one of the great femeu instructors in Thailand. The plays with timing, misdirection and stinging attack are all part of this former Rajadamnern champ's game. Developing fluidity, and a kind of invisibility to movement and attack is key in this session. #81 Chamuakpet Hapalang 2 - Muay Khao Internal Attacks (65 min) One of the all time greats gives his 2nd session of the Library. 9x Lumpinee and Rajadamnern champion, 1985 Fighter of the Year, a man who took belts from both Samart and his brother Kongtoranee, his Muay Thai has been lauded as one of the best that have ever been. In this session he teaches his rising KO out knee, straight up the center, his philosophy of grips, pulls and elbows in the clinch, and just in punching range. Not to be missed. #82 Chanchai Sor. Tummarungsri - The King of Teeps (54 min) Perhaps in all the Library there is no session more devoted to, and detailing of the art of the teep. Chanchai is a Golden Age legend known for his undefeatable teep, and clearly has spent many years dissecting all the small parts that make his teep so incredible, so students can learn it for themselves. Dive into the art of the teep in this one! #83 Thailand Pinsinchai 2 - The Beauty of Clinch (57 min) In Kru Thailand's first session in the Library he taught all the principles of his femeu style, in this session, his second in the Library, he breaks down all the things necessary for his dominant clinch attack. Spend an hour learning the techniques that make clinch turns and damaging knees possible. All of it is balance and rhythm at close range. #84 Yodkhunpon Special Intensive 3 - The Whole Elbow Style (70 min) No other fighter in all of Thailand has developed so complete and pressuring a style based on the weapon of elbows. In this session the Elbow Hunter of 100 Stitches presents his whole galloping style, revealing how he opens up windows for his elbows, and uses those windows to then open up attack with other weapons. #85 Kru Manop Yuangyai 2 - The Art of the Sweep (57 min) In Kru Manop's first session in the Library he broke down the teep, in this one he's all about the sweeps that made Saenchai famous. Kru Manop was Saenchai's padman for several years, and is one of the most technical instructors in all of Thailand. It's very rare for sweeps to get such an exhaustive treatment. A special entry in the Library. #86 Rambaa Somdet M16 3 - The Art of the Stinging Attack (67 min) Rambaa, whose name means "lunatic" in Thai, was one of the most colorful fighters in Thailand's history. In this session you learn the method to his madness, the way in which a constant stinging attack can lead to big shots and fight enders. This session is full of art and wisdom, from Thailand's first MMA World Champion and Golden Age Lumpinee fighter. #87 Luktum Sityodtong 2 - Stepouts, Fakes & Teeps (74 min) The Femeu fighting style is one of the most difficult to learn because it requires so much intuition and control over space. Sometimes it feels like it works by magic. But it doesn't. It's full of techniques and footwork, many of which Luktum teaches in this session. It's a real pleasure to have him in the Library showing his philosophy guided around the teep, off-balances, and taking angles. One of the true Masters. #90 Arjan Surat 2 - His Old School Tough & Defensive Style (94 min) A legend of Bangkok and coach of the Thai National Team, Arjan Surat has a toughened, defense oriented, forward style. In this session he builds it from the ground up, starting with his old school arm swing on the kick (no swing, instead using it to simultaneously block), emphasizing balance and solid framing. Watch and learn! #91 Jaroensap Kiatbanchong - Silky Power (63 min) The 1992 Fighter of the Year Jaroensap had an elegant Muay Thai that was full of hidden power. He shares his unique teeping style, how he employed parries and switches and elbows to control the space in an elite Muay Femeu fighter. #92 Padejseuk Pitsanurachan - Old School Greatness (67 min) It's special when we get to document one of the legends of the sport before the time of video. Padejseuk was an incredible fighter who beat Dieselnoi, Wichannoi, Potsai and Kaopong, the beasts of his day. Learn his all around philosophy and the tactics he used to beat some of the best who ever fought. #93 WBC Champ "Eagle" Den Junlaphan 1 - The Roots of His Boxing Movement (63 min) Multi-time WBC World Champion boxer Den Junlaphan teaches the elements of his footwork and movement, the importance of fighting rhythm and eyes. Siamchai - Balance, Footwork & Intensity (61 min) Pairojnoi who fought in the Fight of the Century vs Rambo shows how he likes to train a fighter on the pads and on the bag. There are so many lessons of toughness, relentlessness and technique in this session, keys to how to train to build a better fighter. #98 Khunpinit Giattawan Freestyle: Southern Power Femeu Style (71 min) The South produced some of the best fighters in all of Thailand. It seems to have a style that is not only artful, but also full of power. Khunpinit who faces some of the best of his day, fighters like Attachai and Saenchai, teaches through sparring how to change pace and switch between power and finesse. #99 Yodwicha Por Boonsit 3 - Spearing the Middle, Fighting With Rhythm (66 min) Yodwicha won (co) Fighter of the year in 2012 as one of the most dominant Muay Khao fighters Thailand has seen, and then made the transition to K1 style kickboxing oriented promotions and became a powerful Muay Maat puncher. In fact he has all the tools, all the distances, and is currently the WBC World Champion at 154 lbs. He teaches how to put knees and hands together was well as some very important bagwork insights. #100 Tepniramit Sitsamnao - Defend and Punish: Old School Pattaya Muay (75 min) This Old School clashing, defend and elbow style has been behind some of Pattaya's most celebrated fighting. Kru Tepniramit has been raising boys to become champions for decades. See how he teaches toughness, defense, timing & powerful counters. Arjan Metprik was not only a great fighter of the Silver Age of Muay Thai, he created the relentless fighting style of 2001 Fighter of the Year Thongchai Tor. Silachai. It's just an amazing lowkick, knee and Muay Maat style full of pressure and toughness. See how he trains his fighters in this Old School Khorat gym. #104 Yodkhunpon Sittraipum 4 - The Art of Shadowboxing (64 min) Some have said this is one of the favorite sessions in all the Library. It's very rare to get detailed instruction and advice on how to do shadowboxing, let alone from a great fighter fo the past. This is a FULL hour of how to shadowbox, learn with me as I learn from The Elbow Hunter of 100 Stitches Yodkhunpon, the greatest Elbow Fighter in Thai history. #105 Gulapkao Na Nonthachai - Old School Forms & Rhythms (53 min) Gulapkao is a Old School champion who know manages the famous JItmuangnon gym in Bangkok. Here I learn just how important the hips are to techniques, the ways they provide explosive power can create balance. Concepts such as the visualization of opponents, and an absolutely beautiful attacking knee bring together a great teaching session. #106 Phetdam Sor Suradet - Style, Rhythm, and Timing (61 min) One of the best padmen in Thailand teaches all the important but hidden aspects of great fighting and training. How do you get spacing and rhythm right? Watch Phetdam mould me in the directions of his compact but relaxed, tempo'd pressuring style. #107 Pudpadnoi Worawut - The Basics from the Legend (72 min) watch it here Silver Age legend Pudpadnoi is by all accounts one of the best who ever fought. In this great Muay Thai Library session you get to know him, still with beautiful Muay at 70 years of age. He teaches all the core basics of what makes Muay Thai in Thailand what it is. #108 Jampatong Na Nonthachai - The Master of the Head Kick (63 min) One of the greatest head kickers in Thai history, someone who beat Samart 2x, teaches his philosophy on the head kick. This is a really special session as we are archiving a technique and man who had not been in a gym in 30 years, but once he gets going it all comes back. His headkick is lethal. #109 Chatchai Sasakul 3 - Developing Rhythm & Precision (108 min) The best boxing coach in Thailand, former WBC World Champions Chatchai Sasakul, teaches the importance of rhythm and precision. Chatchai's instruction brings western boxing technique to Thailand's Muay Thai, as he was also a Golden Age stadium fighter. #110 Samson, Namkabuan, Dieselnoi & Karuhat! - Muay Khao Summit Session (121 min) This unique session brings together the genius of 4 great legends of Muay Thai, including the late Namkabuan. Not only are the techniques taught beautiful, so are the interactions of these great fighters. A session for lovers of Muay Thai and Thailand. #111 The Karuhat Rosetta Stone 7 - The Secrets of the Matador (83 min) Karuhat is the most documented Golden Age legend in history, thanks to the sum of all the filming and commentary we've been able to do with him. This session though provide the key to understanding all the other sessions. And there is a very special focus on his particular Golden Kick. #112 Chatchainoi Chaoraioi - The Best Padman in Thailand (64 min) Called The Man of Stone when he was a Golden Age fighter at the Derjat Gym, today he is the best padman in Thailand, as far as we have experienced. Learn what makes his padwork so effective, and the forward, hardnosed Muay Thai style that he teaches. #113 Arjan Yai Muangsupan - Golden Age Forms & Dynamics (119 min) Arjan Yai gives a keyhole into basic Golden Age forms of Muay Thai that have not all been preserved over time. He was a padman and trainer in the famed Sor. Ploenjit gym when the great Kaensak was Fighter of Year twice. He still trains stadium Muay Thai fighters. In this session he starts from the ground up in a beautiful documentation. #114 Kru Diesel 2 - The Beauty of Building a Muay Khao Fighter (76 min) Kru Diesel is one of the greatest Muay Khao krus in all of Thailand. This is the second session with him in the Library. In it we dive deep into clinch as I'm able to train with one of his top fighters Sirichai (Tanadet: who also is in the Library with his Long Clinch). This is just a great session full of the small details which make a top clinch fighter. #115 Eagle Den Junlaphan 2 - Boxing Within Muay Thai (66 min) WBC World Champion Den Junlaphan teaches boxing for Muay Thai, all the in-fighting and pocket postures and techniques that can make a more complete pressure fighter. This is his second session in the Library. Footwork, keeping your head in, developing continuity, all important for boxing, can translate to Muay Thai as well. #116 Samson Isaan 3 - Dern Pressure Fighting & Defense (44 min) There was nobody tougher and more relentless than Samson Isaan in the Golden Age. Winner of the 1991 Muay Thai Fighter of the Year, undefeated as a World Champion boxer, he was famed for his pressure fighting. But beneath all that heart were the techniques that make it happen. Here he shows how he likes to pressure, his footwork, the keys to balance, and how hands and knees work together. This is his 3rd session in the Library. #117 Kru Kin Por Promin - Muay Boran Precision, Balance & Flow (93 min) A beautiful session under the instruction of Kru Kin teaching the foundations of Muay Boran, revealing the underlying basics of Thailand's ring Muay Thai. Balance, precision and flow. These are the principles that are the bones of Muay Thai, keys to footwork and transition and effective fighting. #118 Phettho Sitjaopho - Muay Femeu Excellence (70 min) Much loved Kru F of Sitjaopho Gym in Hua Hin has beautiful Muay Femeu technique. Learn his secrets to very manageable muay, featuring balance, supreme defense, the development of feeling and naturalness. Learn with me as I learn from him. #119 Burklerk Pinsinchai 2 - Mastering Space with a Legend (106 mins) Arjan Burklerk is one of the great teachers in all of Thailand. We filmed this session before we had even started the Muay Thai Library project. It is so full of techniques and principles of controlling space, his own evolution of the famed Pinsinchai style, I stop the video and discuss each beautiful teaching. This is a unique session. #120 Kaisuwit "Kru Pern" - Muay Maat Centrifugal Power (104 mins) Kru Pern teaches the keys of Muay Maat (hands heavy) power, developing centered balance and gaining a feel for a whipping, side to side centrifugal power. He builds up from the basics but brings it all to a higher level. I learned a lot in this session. Learn with me as I learn from him. #121 Learning from Namkabuan (public) - Explosive Off-Beat Rhythms (74 min) This is a very special session with Namkabuan, one of the greatest who ever fought, undefeated for 6 years holding the prestigious 130 lb Lumpinee belt in the Golden Age. This is the first time I met him. He since has passed away, so this session is public and available to everyone. It's a beautiful sharing of the secrets of one of the great fighting styles of Thailand. #122 Tappaya Sit Or. - Muay Khao Strength In Femeu (82 min) Tappaya is arguably Pattaya's most successful local hero (excluding Samart and Kongtoranee, neither of whom were born in Pattaya but trained at Sityodtong), as he was a Channel 7 fighter, as well as holding the 135 lb Rajadamnern title for 3 years (1997-2000), and a WMC champion. Tappaya was a Femeu fighter himself, but he trains his fighters in more of a Muay Khao ethic, to be very strong and very adroit in clinching. #123 Samson Isaan 4 - Secrets Of His Pressure Fighting (122 min) Our most extensive documentation yet of one of the most relentless pressure fighters of the Golden Age of Muay Thai. 2 hours of work on all the small things, the weight transfers, angles, tempos and techniques that made the 1991 Fighter of the Year such a wrecking ball with heavy hands and endless clinch. #124 Kru San Sitmonchai #2 - Muay Maat At The Right Pace (62 min) Pace is one of the most important, but not always taught aspects of Thailand's Muay Thai, and features heavily in its scoring. Through pace you set your narrative, you dictate the fight. Kru San is expert at teaching pace, and he brings forth his Muay Maat style. Learn the rhythm and distance which can take your Muay Thai to the next level. #125 Therdkiat Sittepitak - Aggressive Femeu (61 min) One of the most respected fighters of the Golden Age, Therdkiat's style was strong and aggressive, but still quite femeu. 4x he held the Lumpinee belt, and from 1992 on he was a part of the famed Nongkipahayut gym, training beside Namkabuan and Namphon. Learn his particular off-angling femeu pressure style that controlled the space with finesse and heavy hands. #126 Kaisuwit Sungila Nongki - Shaping Through Padwork (67 min) In the Thailand kaimuay fighters are often wordlessly shaped through padwork. Each padman has his own rhythms and evolved techniques of bringing out proper distance, timing, ruup and disposition in a fighter. Kaisuwit is one of the great padmen of Thailand, and a former Golden Age champion. Learn his method of creating stadium champions in this documentation of his style. #127 Chaiyai Sit Karuat - Deep Pivots & Spacing (64 min) This session is absolutely brilliant. We travel to Surin, Isaan to film with Chaiyai, who was a Golden Age stadium champion and was a student of the legend Karuhat while Karuhat was himself a yodmuay. And we bring Karuhat with us. Its beautiful to see Karuhat's liquid style expressed in a much more physical way, with deep pivots & control over the space. #128 Samingnoom Sitboontam - Femeu Timing & Dominance (103 min) Almost a documentary film on its own, we go to the hand-built cinderblock home of early Golden Age legend Samingnoom, where he has retreated from International teaching, and Bangkok gyms. His ring surrounded by farmland, is where he teaches an extremely femeu style that has nearly vanished from Muay Thai. This is traveling back in time, into Muay Thai history in more than one way, and its beautiful. #129 Cherry Sor Wanich - Unbreakable Lock Muay Thai (50 min) This session captures the disappearing locking and Muay Khao techniques of the Golden Age legend Cherry Sor Wanich. As Muay Thai changes these beautiful, incredibly effective techniques do not get passed down to future generations, and we were incredibly lucky to film with Cherry. His constrictor-like lock and chokes are part of a heavy, draping style of Muay Thai from the greatest era. #130 Sagat Petchyindee #5 - The Coil and the Uppercut (70 min) Sagat has got to be the most popular legend in the entire Library, and this session shows why. Incredibly precise in correction and full of that intensity which made him one of the most feared fighters of his era. Here he unlocks the secrets of his uppercut and the overall coiling that marked his renown, explosive style. #131 Panomtuanlek Hapalang - The Secret of Tidal Knees (115 min) Called Mr. Tidal Knees, Panomtuanlek completes the trinity of Muay Khao greatness documented from the famed Hapalang gym. This is such a rare and beautiful session, perhaps Top 10 in the entire Library. Panomtuanlek teaches his base of movement and postures which allowed him to become one of the most dominant Muay Khao fighters of the Golden Age. #132 Matee Jedeepitak - The Keys To Femeu Timing & Distance (81 min) Some of the most difficult - but vital - things to learn in traditional Muay Thai is the trinity of Timing, Distance and how to incorporate the Basics. These form the core of what made Golden Age Muay Thai so very special as a fighting style. Lumpinee Champion Matee Jedeepitak has spent two decades perfecting his communication of these femeu qualities, unlocking them for everyone from beginning student to advanced fighter. #133 Bangsaen Tor. Kotsan - Central Core, Boxing & Muay Thai (100 min) Just a tremendous session with a great kru of Chor. One of the best sessions in the Library. #135 Petchdam Lukborai "Mr. Cannibal Knees" - Golden Age Muay Khao Padwork (77 min) A cherished bit of knowledge is how the great Golden Age fighters trained. In this session the 4x Lumpinee Champion Petchdam Lukborai teaches the foundation principles of Muay Khao (knee) fighting, building the vital awareness of a control over space and timing. The Muay Khao fighter eats up the space of an opponent, and this session is about how that is trained on pads. And the whole session is all about working out of the Dracula Guard, which everyone loves. #136 Lamnammoon Sor. Sumalee - Relentless, Spearing, Ripping Muay Khao (99 mins) In this special sessions one of the great legends of Muay Khao, Mr. Vampire Knees, Lamanmmoon teaches his very particular spearing and attacking Knee Fighting style. He came out of the teaching tree of the famed Hapalang gym, and developed a relentless, quick burst, smothering style. A must watch for any knee fighting enthusiast. #137 Kem Sitsongpeenong 3 - Balance, Fakes and Calm (105 mins) Kem goes right to the heart of his beautiful, explosive style. It's all about calm and balance, and using that balance to create change of speed and direction, exposing your opponent to sudden attacks, set up by a mix of fakes & rhythm. What is being taught here can add to the effectiveness of any style fighter, filming at his beautiful gym in the Khao Yai mountains. #138 Detduang Por Pongsawang - Close Range Counter Power (91 mins) A stand-in, closing pressure style that anyone can benefit from is what Detduang is all about. He was a shorter fighter so if you want that low-kick, punishing energy this is the session for you. He has raised his own son, nephew and many young Thai boys into well-known and champion stadium fighters. #142 Arjan Metprik Silachai 2 - Relentless Pace & Low Kick Attack (69 min) This is really an invaluable session as it really captures one of the oldest, most effective branches of Thailand's Muay Thai. Arjan Metprik of Khorat, who was Lumpinee Champion in 1970, and kru of the famed Thongchai Tor Silachai (FOTY 2001), really goes through all the elements of his advancing, pressuring, highly defended Muay Maat and lowkick style. One of the great coaches in Thai history. #143 Takrowlek Dejrat - Master of the Low Kick (91 min) One of the great low kicking fighters of the Golden Age teaches his squared up, pressuring, Muay Beuk fight philosophy which uses an extremely fast, vertical low kicking technique that keeps the opponent exactly where you want them. This punishing style, built on defense and ring control is extremely effective, using techniques that are not often taught. Study the low kick in a way you haven't seen before. #144 Jean-Charles Skarbowsky - Keys to Winning in Thailand (114 min) One of the most respected and famed Western fighters in Thailand's Muay Thai, twice ranked #1 at Rajadamnern Stadium in the 2000s, Jean-Charles Skarbowsky becomes only the 3rd non-Thai in the Library. He shows the keys to his winning in Thailand, as he evolved as a fighter fighting the best at Rajadamnern stadium. These are a handful of golden principles that he teaches his own fighters now. #145 Thongchai Tor Silachai - Muay Maat & Low Kick Legend (100 min) Rare and hard to find we finally get to film this incredible session with one of the very best who ever fight, the 2001 FOTY legend Thongchai. His is a prime example of extremely high level fighting out of a pressure low kick and heavy hands, clinch style. Just some of the most beautiful pressure muay ever. Study to see how this incredible fighter fought way up in such a victorious manner. #146 Wangchannoi Sor Palangchai #4 - Elite Timing & Impact and Shadowboxing (52 mins) This session is pure gold. Wangchannoi, one of the most feared fighters of the Golden Age teaches the keys to his punishing, explosive style. It's about building fight timing, and setting up the painful, impactful strike through timing and distance. One of the more difficult things to teach he artfully unfolds what his secret was to controlling and beating some of the best fighters in the world. #147 Nungubon Sitlertchai - Explosive Striking & Control Over Space (101 min) Visiting Nungubon's gym way out in Ubon Ratchathani Isaan we are able to document his absolutely beautiful muay, both explosive and full of the control over space. Learn his secrets to a fluid, punishing Muay Thai, bringing together the arts of boxing and muay, built on a devotion to shadowboxing. True Golden Age excellence. #148 Anantasak Panyuthapum - Boxing, Elbows and The Feet (86 min) One of the great elbow and great hands fighters of Muay Thai's Golden Era has been the boxing coach of the Thai National Boxing team for years. We learn from him the foundations of how boxing & elbow attacks go together in Thailand's Muay Thai, and his secrets to his dynamic, aggressive fighting style. #149 Provincial Kaimuay Knowledge - Santi Ubon Muay Thai (86 min) Everyone wants to know what "authentic" Muay Thai training is like in Thailand. We visit and document the kaimuay training style of the Santi gym in Ubon (Isaan), the traditional, local community style of training that is core to Thailand's historical style of fighting. Learn the energy of padwork, sparring and clinch, how fighters are shaped from the ground up. One of the difficulties is learning how important timing and tempo is to the style. We explore with the Golden Age legend of knee fighting Lamnammoon in our 2nd session with him. Supawan - Advanced Switching Footwork | 60 min This is a beautiful session in which Karuhat expands on his switching style, having moved me from standard to southpaw in a previous session. Bonus Session 2: Sor. Kamsing Techniques | 37 min These are the techniques of the the Sor. Kamsing gym in Bangkok, the gym of legendary fighter Somrak. The gym's head trainer and another ex-fighter show me their femeu style. Bonus Session 3: Joe Hongthongnoi - Mid-Clinch | 44 min Joe teaching Muay Khao fighting philosophy through loose sparring incorporating important principles for how to handle the mid- and low-clinch. Bonus Session 4: Hippy Singmanee - Ultra Violence | 30 min Hippy is all about building power and aggression in strikes. In this session he really tries to create a conversation of violence in our padwork, and then in our light sparring he teaches elbows with incredible fluidity and invasive power. Bonus Session 5: Chatchai Sasakul - Southpaw Hands | 52 min Chatchai's stance and striking system is not only ideal for boxing - he was the WBC Flyweight World Champion in 1997 - it instills a basic weight transfer balance that can dramatically improve your Muay Thai. Watch it being installed on me for the first time from the Southpaw stance. Bonus Session 6: Yodkhunpon Sittraipum - Front Side Attack | 77 min Yodkhunpon is the Elbow Hunter of 100 Stitches and in this session he shows a front side attack system, especially effective in standard vs standard, southpaw vs southpaw matchups, drilling the open side until your power side can finish. Lots of little elbow techniques also shown. Bonus Session 7: Karuhat Sor. Supawan - Forward Check | 39 min In this session Karuhat teaches his beautiful and unique Forward Check, and the system of attacks that flow out of it in his fighting style. This check, aggressively from Southpaw, versus Orthodox fighters eats up space closes distance, effectively deal with one of the primary weaknesses of Southpaw attack. Bonus Session 8: Yodkhunpon Sittraipum - Scissoring Elbows & Knees | 68 min This is a great session with The Elbow Hunter, teaching his incredible Elbow and Knee Muay Khao pressure style. There is tons in this session, but a big part of it is watching how as a southpaw fighter you use the lead closed-side elbow and then the open side knee (or cross) in tandem. Bonus Session 9: Yodkhupon Sittraipum - Lethal Smoothness | 73 min In this session Yodkhunpon really delves down into the smoothness of his style, with great emphasis on his galloping footwork towards the end. It's all about building a pressure style that does not strain, but rather exerts a constant music of forward attack. ++++++ Kaimuay Diary Video Series This is an informal record of the everyday life and training of my gym in Pattaya, one of the few remaining official "kai muay" - a Thai gym which founds its business on the raising of Thai stadium fighters, and not focusing on training westerners. Kaimuay Diaries - Episode 1 | Maintenance Mode (29 min) A quiet look at the top stadium fighters at the gym in a typical maintenance mode day. With no fights coming up the training is light, communal and playful. You get to see Dieselnoi's passion, and listen to Pi Nu talk about what it has been like having a legend like Dieselnoi in his family's gym. Kaimuay Diaries - Episode 6 | Dieselnoi in the House Part 2: Bank (47 min) This is "Part 2," focusing on Bank and Dieselnoi's dedication to him, leading up to a fight at Rajadamnern that was a step up for Bank. If he won, it would push him into a next level of opponents. You can see the difference between Dieselnoi's training of Alex and his training of Bank, but you can see the similarities as well. Mostly it's just amazing to watch how f***ing much Dieselnoi puts into everything.
